Members of the Liberian public were not only amazed but also thrilled by the construction of a modern edifice, the JAHMALE MED’S SOLUTION, which is strategically situated at the A.B. Tolbert Road-ELWA Junction in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
Many wonder as to who was behind the construction of this up-to-the-minute facility and for what it was intended.
The marvelous architectural outlook of this world-class infrastructure has indeed added elegance and beauty to Paynesville City.
It was only when former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf officially performed the dedication of the building in 2017 prior to turning over to her successor, President George Manneh Weah, that many people became aware that the construction of this edifice was the initiative of the state-owned National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP).
With its dedication, all is now set for Liberians and residents to make use of this modern facility, and the Director-General, Mr. Dewitt vonBallmoos, has told the nation that the facility would be used for basic healthcare services including diagnostic examinations and treatments for which some of Liberia’s ruling class and other elites travel abroad to gain.
“What people could run for to neighboring countries and abroad is now right here and affordable; make use of it to get the best medical results,” said Mr. vonBallmoos.
Bringing to reality the dream of erecting and equipping this diagnostic center was based on thoughts as to what can be done for the vast majority of ordinary citizens to easily access world-class medical services in Liberia at generally affordable costs.
According to Director General vonBallmoos, while he was in the West African State of Ghana seeking advanced medical examination, he came out with the thought for NASSCORP to erect such a medical facility in Liberia, having realized that many times they have to transfer workers who sustain injuries on the job to Ghana, a situation that is capital-intensive.
“So, the thought of what can be done to minimize cost came to me. I realized that the health facility in Accra, Ghana, can be built here to serve the health needs of the Liberian people and residents,” he told The Images Magazine in an exclusive interview.
The diagnostic center has first-class equipment including MRI, CT scan, and a digital X-ray machine amongst many others
The NASSCORP Boss revealed that it took tireless feasibility studies to succeed with the construction of the center, taking into consideration the purchase of the needed medical equipment and their installation in the two separate buildings that are connected by an overhead bridge.
